Katrina Dignum is an American soprano originally from Tucson, Arizona. She holds a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Temple University, a Graduate Certificate in Vocal Performance from the University of New Mexico, and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of New Mexico. Katrina’s 2024-2025 season began with her performance as the title role of Massenet’s Cendrillon with Temple Opera Theater. She covered Donna Anna in Temple Opera Theater’s production of Don Giovanni, and performed as Lucy (Beggar’s Opera) in The Beggar’s Trio: a staged concert created in collaboration with the Temple School of Liberal Arts, Boyer College of Music and Dance, and School of Theater, Film, and Media Arts. Her other performances with Temple Opera Theater include the role of Ginevra in Händel’s Ariodante and various scenes concerts as Blanche de la Force from Dialogues des Carmélites, La Contessa from Le nozze di Figaro, and Marguerite from Gounod’s Faust. During her time with the University of New Mexico, Katrina sang the roles of Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Miss Wordsworth in Albert Herring, and the Spirit in Dido and Aeneas. She performed in scenes as Susanna from Le nozze di Figaro, Cendrillon from Viardot’s Cendrillon, and Avis from Smyth’s The Wreckers. In 2020, she sang with The University of New Mexico Choirs as the soprano soloist in collaboration with the St. John’s Bach Project in their presentation of BWV 61 Nun komm der Heiden Heiland. Katrina had the pleasure of performing in a masterclass with Maestro Maurizio Petrolo in an exchange with Temple University and the Conservatorio Statale di Musica di Benevento, as well as a masterclass with Dr. Latoya Lain as part of the Rio Grande Regional NATS Festival. As a competitive singer, Katrina has participated in the New Mexico Vocal Artistry and Art Song Festival, and placed in both the Rio Grande and Texoma region student auditions with the National Association of Teachers of singing. Katrina has maintained involvement with educational and professional organizations alongside her performances. She has worked with the New Mexico Music Educators Association, the Tucson Girls Chorus, and several private music academies as an instructor and adjudicator. She is affiliated with the professional fraternity Sigma Alpha Iota and student chapters of the National Association of Teachers of Singing.
